In horsecars they rode past the Canadian side of Niagara Falls to Chippawa, Ontario and then crossed the U.S. border near Buffalo, New Yor,. Theri next destination was Milwaukee. Here a teamster was hired to take the women, children and baggage to Dodgeville while the men walked. They reached Madison in three days, and Dodgevillle in five days.
